Good Morning

Well well well. Yet another season of life has snuck up on me. Everything has changed.... again! I guess that's part of being a young adult. Or just part of life. I'm still going to school part timeish. I start a new quarter Monday. Microbiology! (boo) I have a new job. I work in the Mental Health Unit of the hospital. I moved out of the rents' house finally and I have a cute little apartment with my wonderful friend, Rebecca. And to top off my life I now help out with the Middle School youth group at church, and I love it! So I am undeniably busy.  Right now I am in the middle of a 7p-7a shift. It's 3 in the morning. Almost all my patients are asleep so for a few minutes I have a break!
Let me tell you what, this job is crazy. (That should go without saying, given where I work!) I have chased down patients, held down patients, and ducked to miss a few punches from patients. I have been spit on, yelled at, cursed at. I have had more that one object thrown at my head.  Most of all this nonsense, though, is surprisingly easy to deal with. You take a deep breath, remind yourself that this patient is mentally ill, and you move on with a smile on your face. You have to smile, or else you won't make it.  I work with mostly people who have tried to kill themselves. Many of them have also been abused, raped, beaten.  It's not a happy place. And I continually have to put on my spiritual armor, or else I'm toast.  This place is dripping in spiritual warfare like I've never experienced before. It makes you desperate for God.
Well I am as tired as anything. And I still have about 18 hours before I see bed again.
Good night all, or should I say good morning.
